Problem of the Month

The Bullied One

Dear Kid Helper,

I need your help.  Since Kindergarten, a person in my grade has been bullying me.  He/She is not in my class this year but he/she comes up to me at recess and is disrespectful.  He/she also comes up to me on the bus and tells me to stop telling on him/her.  I have told my teacher but I am still worried that he/she won’t ever stop.  What can I do?

Solution

Dear Bullied One,

Thank you for sending us your problem.  We hope that this advice will help the bullying to stop:
1. Tell the teacher/Principal
2. Talk to your parents
3. Ignore him/her and walk away
4. Act like it doesn’t bother you so he/she stops
5. Go straight to him/her to talk about it
6. Be extra nice to him/her
7. Come up with a way to show him/her you’re strong
8. Ask your friends to stand up for you
